the darkness in Earth Hour

yup, yesterday, my apartment has also joined in on the Earth Hour, one hour of no lights.

so i went for a nap, like i planned to nap from 8.30-9.30pm, buut, seemed like I've slept all night long. and my report editing hasnt finished too!

Maybe its just because Amy and I played badminton yesterday, its really tiring. coz in Volleyball there are 5 other people with you, so you have less chance to get the ball, while in badminton you have to chase the shuttlecock yourself. besides, in volleyball, if you're just a beginner you'll get lesser chance getting the ball than the "all-star" players, yup, thats their name. like, a guy who's one of the all-stars even said to someone else, like, "X, cover that area so we can overcome the weakness". Yes, I was at that area. Yes, I was the weakness. sheesh, I know I'm just a beginner and I'm not good at all at volleyball, but calling me a weakness, behind my back, in front of my face? it just feels kinda like a stab to the heart. oh well, i just felt kinda annoyed at that time, I would never let such things slow me down. i still love volleyball too~ hehe

today, i woke up quite early, continued editing the project and stuff, then went out to sushi king for lunch. totally love that place! XD then had a walk, window shopping and just had fun. the pic is blur coz Mel's scared of getting told off by the shop owner XD

oh and the red jacket that i've been eyeing is having a 50% off!!! SADLY, the jacket didnt fit me well!!! i felt like crying T.T! and Primavera was having a sale too! i love a white pair of leather mary-janes but the shoes didnt really call out to me, like they're NOT the ones. when there're the ones, you know you'll just HAVE to buy it! but its okay though, im trying to save money for my new clothes anyways.. hee hee hee~

oh, and last Thursday we had dermatology quiz. because its MCQ kinda quiz, I dont think I did too well. then Friday we had the end of posting exam. Dr. Annuar was the coordinator of the posting, so he was there~ he's SOOO cute too! X3 too bad its probably the last contact we had with him. he's leaving UNIMAS soon :(

anyways, tomorrow's Monday! my least favorite day of all days, except when there's a public holiday on Monday, that I like! so yeah, tomorrow we're going to a polyclinic. I've been there before in my school days, not the place i'd like to go as a patient. too many people, too long of a time to be spent waiting for your number to be called, doctors prescribing paracetamol to almost anything until there was a rumor going at our school that the paracetamol at the polyclinic was about to expire, so they're giving it away to people XD! how ridiculous!

so yeah, better read some things now, wont wanna do too many things at the last minute XD

venus in MUD!

kya!! it all started when i parked Venus at the back of the clinic! oh, fyi, we started going to Kota Sentosa Clinic since Monday. then, we had a dermato class at 10am, so we stopped rather rushedly at around 9.45? so we only had 15 minutes for an around-20-minute-drive to faculty without traffic!

so, when we wanted to get out of the clinic, i thought i could just go around the clinic to the main entrance. turned out that the grass field at the back of the clinic was really mushy and muddy! and there was no way around the clinic either!! but it was too late when we figured that out! i tried to reverse, but to my surprise, Venus was stuck! *SHOKKU*

stepped on the gas, trying to go forward or backward but to no avail! adding more to the bad luck, both Mel and I didnt bring our phone or didnt have any credits to call for help. So, Mel had to run and find people to help.

luckily, there were 2 good samaritans who really really kindly helped us to get Venus out of the mud hole! and we also learned some tricks for the blunder.
-1st, get something hard like some rocks, bricks or piece of wood or something to put under the tyres.
-then with the tyres straight, reverse slowly. the guys pushed Venus while I reversed her. poor them! mud splattered like crazy when I stepped on the gas, and the mud rain fell upon them! but they did it! gosh, I didnt know how to thank them! its like beyond words! thanks so much, you guys are my heroes~!
so yeah, here are pics of Venus after the rescue, though she has been cleaned right after the dermato class. now she's shiny~

my eville hero XD

the latest episodes of Heroes are getting more awesome and more awesome! though its really annoying because I dunno what Nathan's plan actually is, and he's really stubborn and all about it. I'm sure there's something else behind his motives!

also, these episodes also told about Sylar's pasts, which were pretty tragic and all. and the visit to his long lost father. i WAS expecting an epic battle against father and son XD, but its pretty cool how Sylar tricked his father and won!

since Nathan's plan is redeemed as evil right now, so I'm rooting for Sylar! I have a thing for bad guys in movies, as long as they are hot, powerful and a genius~ XD
kowaii to kawaii~ XD

Another Heart Calls!

Um.. I dont usually post some lyrics in my blog but I'm just SOOO in love with this song right now! its from the All-American Rejects latest album. "When the World Comes Down". Other songs are pretty awesome too, like "Mona Lisa", "Real World", uh, I think I just love all the songs in this album! Anyways, I love Another Heart Calls the most! The female vocals in this song are from a duo named The Pierces. They have really great vocals! *love* X3

The music is really cool and catchy, and Tyson's and The Pierces' vocals harmonizes so well! I really love their combination, plus the lyrics are so awesome and sweet. So, here it is~

Another Heart Calls - The All-American Rejects

Do you remember when we didn't care?
We were just two kids that took the moment when it was there,

Do you remember you at all?
Another heart calls,

I remember when we stole the night,
We lie awake but dreaming 'till the sun would wash the sky,

Just as soon as I see you,
Didn't I, didn't I tell you,
As deep as I need you,
You wanna leave it all,

What can I do?
Say it's true,
Or everything that matters breaks in two,
Say it's true,
I'll never ask for anyone but you,

Talk to me,
I'm throwing myself in front of you,
This could be the last mistake that I would ever want to do,
All I ever do is give,
It's time you see my point of view,

Just as soon as I see you,
Didn't I didn't I tell you,
As deep as I need you,
You want to leave it all,

What can I do?
Say it's true,
Or everything that matters breaks in two,
Say it's true,
I'll never ask for anyone but you,

I know you want to figure it out,
And God knows I do too,
What can I do?
Say It's true,
I'll never ask for anyone but you,

I'm sorry,
So what?
But you don't think I've said enough,
I'm sorry,
I don't care,
You were never there,

Just as soon as I see you,
Didn't I, didn't I tell you,
As deep as I need you,
You wanna leave it all,

What can I do?
Say it's true
Or everything that matters breaks in two
Say it's true,
I'll never ask for anyone but you,

I know you want to figure it out,
And God knows I do too,
What can I do?
Say it's true,
I'll never ask for anyone but you,

I'll never ask for anyone but you
I'll never ask for anyone but you
I'll never ask for anyone but you
I'll never ask for anyone but you
I'll never ask for anyone but you

placebo??!!

yup, Dr. Voon administered small doses of antihistamines to 2 of the patients today who had no allergies! one came with lumbago & sciatica and the other one with Meniere's disease. he said its just for placebo effects. nan de kore??! Personally I dont think its okay to like, cheat the patient, take advantage of patients' lack of knowledge and charge them for some unnecessary treatments?!

yeah, placebo effects have been reported in studies to be helpful to the patients. buuut! he has given the patient painkillers for her back pain, and i dunno what he prescribed for Meniere's disease, so why did he still have to do the placebo thingy? i mean like, with the pills that really work, why do you need to give placebos? I think its not helping! is it really useful/necessary in these cases? wakaranai!!

I dont think I'd be a GP too, like, all they think about is money. and they only know things in a broad-spectrum basis. they're a laughing stock for the specialists, like the specialists always blame them for wrong diagnoses, for prescribing the wrong drugs or something, and scoffed at them, like 'where did you get this drug?' "from a GP" 'hmph, no wonder!', something like that. yeah, not all GPs are money-minded or useless, some of them are pretty good because they covered a wide range of medical knowledge and are really good.

still though, after being attached to this particular GP, i guess it kinda opened my eyes to the other part of world. kinda made me reminisce about my pre-medical student life where i believed and trusted EVERYTHING from people who had MD behind their names.

hum...im not saying to the society that we shouldnt trust doctors, im just saying that, in this medical field, patients put their trust wholeheartedly to doctors and they believe doctors can like, heal everything. so doctors shouldnt betray their trust, ne?

what happened today

today's wednesday! its been 3 days since Mel and I are attached to a GP's clinic! >.< @.@ and its Dr. Voon's Clinic! >.< never in my mind that i'd find such an old, scattered, so unclinic-y like clinic! *sigh sigh sigh* it certainly has sucked most of my positive energy. we're going to be there this whole week! thank God its only a week! I just cant stand it! huhuhuhuhuhu T.T though, as shabby as the clinic is, there are quite a lot of patients coming in. hum...mostly for medical checkups (he's got an x-ray machine with a dark room), upper respiratory tract infections, STDs, cold and fever and common stuffs like that. seriously though, if you have that much patient, is it too hard to like, buy a new desk, a new cupboard to organize the millions stuff, a simple bench for the waiting room instead of those duct-taped lumpy moldy sofas and for god's sake, new containers for sample collection!? (like patients have to pee in a cup!) he IS a good doctor, i just wish the place look less like a Dr. Frankenstein Clinic!

and the sudden switch between the tight schedule of Dermatology posting with this slow, nothing-much GP attachment, we're getting kinda lazy and stuff :S

anyways, I bought the fila shoes!! yippeee~! XD I love it, its really shiny and cute *sigh~* though i still need some sport shoes because right now Im wearing a cheap cute pink pair of shoes thats like made of some plastic material? like, its really cute and all but i dont think its durable enough for sports. spotted some cute Nike shoes when browsing sport shoes, but the ones I like are like, Mary-Janes that are not made for sports but they're REAALLY cute! X3 oh oh, at the last college meeting, they're enforcing a rule that bans the wear of high heel shoes at the faculty! if caught wearing them, there will be like a fine or something! nan da ya kore??! guess i'll have to buy more flat heeled shoes! XD

aaand, i've been watching Lovely Complex. Its an anime about a couple consisting of a tall girl and a short guy. the anime is really funny with loads of exaggeration of reactions and all XD. though its really like annoying when the guy was kinda slow at realizing the girl's feelings when its really obvious and guys who dont have the guts to make the move, are really turn-offish!

and today, we played Volleyball uneasily! some lecturers parked at the volleyball court thats supposed to be empty after 5! sometimes the ball hit the cars, and the alarm rang, but really! they still wouldnt move their cars! and Shah's ball even hit a Merce!! and it bent the Merce logo and scratched the hood! if i was the car owner, I'd CRY! but other than that, we had fun, as always~! \^.^/

last but not least, Mel and I are like the most famous people on the road today. like EVERYONE waved, pointed and said something at us when we're driving around. its because~ Mel's plate number was hanging off! XD its really funny and embarrassing when everyone pointed at us and tried to tell us about it, like EVERYONE! XD we're like, "yeah yeah, we know, thanks anyways! XD" its really funny! Mel fixed it with some double tape XD.
a lot has happened today, i'm sooo exhausted! XD

day dream

I just woke up from an afternoon nap. I dreamed of trying on a white shirt at a mall. its not even cute or worth trying on, like its really simple. i dunno why i took it in my dream. but come to think of it, i dont have many white shirts. so wanna get one!

I've spied some shoes that I cant stop thinking about, 1 pair at mixit, 2 at momoe and 1 of Fila (this one is just SOO comfy and its on 50% sale and my size is the only one left - if thats not a sign of fate, then i dunno what it is XD). problem is, they're all black, wonder which one should i get. or even two? one can never have one too many shoes, ne?

どうしよう???!

yesterday

i went out with Noem, to celebrate him getting a good result in SPM, so I bought him 3 PS2 games! ok, that his element, then, I brought him to mine, so I went shopping for his clothes~ XD

i wanted to get him some clothes as the last time he got his clothes is like, months? maybe a year ago? >.< so yeah, helped him choose some shirts and a pair of jeans. its kinda hard shopping with him, kinda like

me: ok, look around and choose whatever you like
him: ok, but i dunno where to start
me: do you like this shirt?
him: hum... i guess, i dunno
me: how bout this one? its simple and it looks nice
him: uh.... ok, i guess
me: oh for god's sake, just choose whatever you like!

XD so yeah, though its quite hard, its still pretty fun! and we got a nice pair of jeans for just RM25! how awesome is that?

then, treat him to some pizzas, then bought him some big apple doughnuts. then i sent him back. he's staying with my other brother's in-laws. and I stayed to play with Aya-chan! she's SOOO cute and she grows up SO fast! she knows how to make cute faces, shake her head and clap her hands when you ask! she's SOO brilliant. I felt really sad when I had to leave the house! I miss her already! I want to visit her again next week. They're staying until the end of the month before going back home in Mukah. I wish Aya could just live with me, though it'd be freakingly hard to take care of a baby XD.
isnt she SOOOO adorable???!! X3
all this family stuff is making me a little bit homesick-y.. hum..

food fair and the haunted room!

hi hi, today, my group and I had a discussion for our district posting project. so I went to the fac at like 9.30 am. we discussed for a while and stuff, and there it was, the food fair!!

i've really forgotten about the food fair! XD so, i was pretty hungry because i was rushing to the group meeting and hadnt get the chance for breakfast, so Aliaa and I went to look around. there were stalls with food, drinks and desserts. they're all made by our juniors. I bought some chicken nuggets, fries, fruit salad and some drink, they're pretty awesome!

and there were also a car wash, aaand.. a HAUNTED ROOM! they cant really make a haunted house! XD

so yeah, i thought like, oh well, the ghosts would just be our juniors, so it wont be THAT scary! but when its our turn to enter (they allowed us four to enter), i saw the darkness in the room and i just FREAKED out! I wanted to run but Mel dragged me into the room, so I was like a child screaming while dragged into the haunted room XD. its all pitch black in the room, and they arranged the room so that only one person fits the pathway, so I was in the middle, clutching tightly at Amy's shirt. oh god, i was freaked out, the ghosts really did a good job! the lighting was awesome and the sound effects was really real and stuff. though some of the ghosts tried too hard and that didnt scare me anymore. the scariest thing is the body covered in a white cloth lying right at our side! and its crying! its SOOOO freaky!

this is the pic at the exit (i kinda look like a deer caught in the headlights XD). I was not that scared anymore so Mel took a pic with me and one of the ghost XD. in this pic, sure it doesnt look too scary, but the real room is soooo dark and because of my phobia, my rationalization that those are just my juniors all crumbled up and vaporized XD.

so yeah, turned out that we're the loudest group. we just couldnt stop screaming and laughing at ourselves! XD its SOOO much fun! though I'd NEVER want to do in a haunted house/room or whatever anymore! NEVER! all in all, it was really scary but fun XD.

confessions of a shopaholic - SOOO me! XD

I've finished reading this book this morning, and no surprises! I'd TOTALLY understand what she's going through, though I don't have credit cards at the moment. I thank GOD for that, dunno whatever would happen to me if I own a credit card or two XD. but seriously, this book really epitomized a shopaholic!

Why I shop?
1. its TOTALLY the cutest thing ever, I'd DIE if I dont own it
2. its SALE
3. i swear i wont shop for a month (NEVER works XD)
4. i deserve to treat myself (yeah, like for not shopping for like 2 weeks or so?)
5. life's too short without that top/shoes/whatever
6. im bored, i need something new
7. had a long day, need retail therapy
8. i passed a cloth on display and its begging me to buy it XD
9. i peeled myself off something, patted my back for the success of resisting the temptation but found myself thinking about the thing for days until i finally went back to the store and get it.

and the list goes on and on, shopaholics always, always find reasons (more like excuses!) to shop. sometimes I even like, pass a freaking furniture shop or whatever and found me asking myself, "is there something i need in there?", and it feels weird if i went in a store and coming out empty-handed.

its really troublesome, with my student life, im living off of my scholarship and allowances from my parents. thankfully scholarship for medical students is the highest! hehe. I SO can't wait to get my own paycheck and like, "oh, i've just spent $1000 for the clothes and shoes..hmmm... its okay, i'll have more money next month!" dreaming is sooo fun! XD

anyways, I really need to exercise some self-control now. i should NOT not go shopping, but i think i can reduce it for now. wish me luck! ^.^

the end of dermato era

last friday the 13th was our last dermatology posting! i wont miss all the busy schedule, but for its worth, i'd miss it terribly!!! i'd always like that in almost all postings. like i'd whine about how hard it is and whatever but i'd end up missing it when it's ended.

oh, and last friday, I did the seminar presentation. my group presented on common fungal infections. we had some errors on the topic division, and i ended up presenting only 9 slides of presentation. i did the aetiology and classifications of the fungi, while Mel did most of the topic, like 30+ slides and whilmore and izham did like 20 or so slides. its all because our seminar had been shifted forward so we just had like a day to do the seminar, so when we realized the error of the division, its already 1 in the morning. though, we did pretty well and i got 4.5 out of 5 marks. fancy that! ^.^

oh and at the last day of dermatology posting, we had fun at the laser room. because "the boss" wasnt there, so we played around with the goggles. its pretty fun and i really like the pink ones!! X3 and because we've just watched Watchmen, we kinda felt like those superheroes wearing those goggles XD! fyi, different goggles are used for different laser wavelengths. and Dr. Pubalan made us take out our hands and he pointed the laser at each of our hands. he used 1.7, half of the patient's for tattoo removals, and it felt kinda like an electric static! and i had a red spot on my hand! however, no need to panic tattoo-removal-patients, they use topical analgesic before the procedure. also Dr. Pubalan showed us what the laser did at different wavelengths on a wooden tongue depressor and it was really cool!

anyways, here are our pics~~

lol, dont we all look cool (and silly) XD

vacation is a faraway dream *sigh*

hi hi! yeah, its been really busy! dermatology is quite a busy busy posting. loads to read, loads to revise -.-;;
however, today, the afternoon class was postponed, so my friends and i went to watch "Watchmen". its a superheroes movie, directed by "300" director. hum.... i dont really like this movie. i dont really get it. all i know is, its mainly focused on human's ugly natures, corruptions and there were loads and loads of violence. i dunno, i just dont get some of the parts. urgh! so not worth my afternoon and money =.=

though sometimes it crosses my mind that maybe annihilation is a way to help this world. kinda like hitting the restart button. cleansing the earth from scums and all. then again, the question would be "who deserves to remain alive?" and "who deserves to be erased from the world?", thus making the whole process a lot harder than the idea. whatever, it could get deep. i dont wanna get too much in it for now XD.

and, yesterday and today, it rained. the weather got reaaally cold. now too. in the evenings, when we played volleyball, the sky went really dark, the wind were blowing, there were lightnings and thunders, and some drizzle too, sometimes. its kinda freaky but fun to play in such weather XD. feels like the scene in twilight where the vegan vampires were out playing superpower softball with supermassive blackhole in the background XD. oh, and i've improved somehow, its so cool! ^^ and my arms hurt less now though they still hurt a little bit now and then. weird ne? like, our body can adapt to such change in a really short time?

aanyways, i have an aim to like, learn as many sports as i can, and so far i've learnt:
1. netball
2. basketball
3. badminton
4. pingpong
5. volleyball
6. futsal (only played in a tournament once and its pretty funny XD)
7. bowling (is this even considered a sport? XD)

hum..what else? cant think of anything. ah, i'll just update the list later whenever ^^v

oh and my brother Noem, got 8 A's and 2 B's for his SPM. though he did not beat my results, thats quite good. congrats to Noem-chan~

so yeah, think i should update my bloggie before finishing my seminar presentation and going to sleep on such fine weather~ ^.^~~

volley and crocs

just wanna steal an entry from Mel's blog about this tournament: http://childishlyclumsy.blogspot.com/2009/03/volleyball-unimas-inter-college.html

this happened like last week XD, but its a memorable day. my friends and i have gone there to give supports to our guys and girls teams. the guys were quite butchered by the other faculty's teams. but the girls won, but they only managed to get 3rd place at the finals the next day. I have a strong feeling that because we didnt go there the 2nd day to be the cheerleaders XD, thus, they didnt have the drive to win. fear our cheering skills!!! a~la~la~la~la~la~la!!!! (the war cry!! you have to say it really loud and fast, and you've got to have freakily quick tongue movements XD)

oh, and the Jong crocs farm visit pictures that I've said I wanted to upload but I never get to it XD
http://childishlyclumsy.blogspot.com/2009/02/one-day-off-and-we-went.html

sorry Mel, because Im too lazy I have to resort to such plagiarism XD.

back from the dead

the death of my internet, that is! the college's internet has been down for a loooong time! seems like the technicians are just sitting around eating donuts instead of taking care of the internet thingy =.=

and, few days ago, my broadband internet has also gone haywired. sometimes it couldnt connect at all and sometimes the connection was really slow that i cant even download a simple JPEG image. *sigh* thankfully, yesterday a miracle happened! so yeah, im glad its working now. i havent updated my blog for a week. a LOT has happened and if i was to write all of them, they might sound like a verbal diarrhea XD.

so so..the important stuff, hm...

Pet Society! I'm totally addicted to this game. I've reached quite high of a level now *yay me!* and I just need to collect some money coz I want to buy furnitures and a hat for my pet~~ ^^

oh, and its been a week over since we got back from Serian. I miss the waterfall!!! I miss having the convenience of jumping into the cool water whenever we want because of the hot weather!! and now, I'm in dermatology posting! its like one of the busiest posting EVER! clinic and class from morning to evening, every day! and the doctors there are quite strict. great doctors always are! dermatology is quite interesting, despite the busy and tight schedule. we've got to see loads of cases, interesting cases. skin problems are really common among us. sometimes people go to alternative way like going to beauticians or traditional medications, and end up getting worse and present to the dermatology clinic with all the complications. its really sad that not many people have the awareness to seek medical treatment, and it can be treated easily if detected early. like this one case, an elderly woman, with psoriasis. she lives with her husband in the rural area, quite far from the hospital. and she missed the appointment by 3 weeks because her children couldnt take her to the hospital (maybe transport or money problem? also lack of knowledge of the disease). then she presented to the clinic with erythroderma, the psoriasis has affected more than 90% of her body, and also her eyelids, affecting her blinking, drying her eyes, making it more susceptible to infection, leading to inflammation, leading to pain and discomfort and could be complicated by ulcerations. she is also very thin, weak and has to be on a wheelchair. also she seems to have advanced cataracts, so she couldnt see. Dr. Felix referred her to the ophthalmologist, and she's admitted to a hospital nearer to her house. i really feel sorry for the old lady. kinda like, regretful that a preventable thing is not stopped and now its kinda hard to reverse all that.

moral of the story: seek treatment early!

but, in this part of the world, not all people can afford the medical bills. many of them cant even afford the transport fees from their home to the hospital since they cant afford to buy their own vehicles and their places are like hours, some even take half a day just to make it to the hospital.

and we have to understand their ignorance of the diseases. maybe the health education here isn't so extensive? many of the people still believe in animistic doings. its when its already too late that they go to the hospital. so you cant really blame it all on them. they dont go to medical school.

its kinda sad to think that a lot of people are in dire need of health education and medical treatment but they couldnt get it. hope this can change in the future.

anyways, i've been learning to play volleyball, and i've been playing it almost every evening for the past week. i can serve pass the net now, and i've just got to improve on getting the ball and stuff. its pretty fun! we always laughed a lot, i think thats the most tiring thing XD. except for a killjoy, he's like taking things too seriously and stuff. he even said that its weird that we're always laughing. like, wth?! he's the mostest most boring guy EVER! i hate being in the same team as him, he's always asking other guys to get the ball because he gets upset whenever i couldnt get the ball. like, how am i suppose to learn that way?! its like he's sucking all the joy in the air. and he's not all that good :P. well, minus him, im loving volleyball! the other guys are all funny! and though my arms are bruised now, they're not as painful as when i first started playing. God! that was torture! my arms were all swollen and i was like screaming everytime i hit the ball (screaming inside XD). when the pain subsided though, the joy comes~~ XD

oh oh, finally, its Maulidurrasul today, its the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad pbuh~

thats all for my long update. gotta read something tonight. jaa ne~!

common sense in my simple-minded view

common sense: everything to something, something to everything

there are 2 types of people
1. those with common sense
2. those without common sense

when those without common sense piss you off, they're called idiots. i really hate those people. im not saying that im a genius or anything. sometimes i do fool around, do stupid stuff and all. and sometimes i laugh at some stupid joke/stuff/people. well, it all depends on many different factors, like level of stupidity, duration of the stupid joke, the person, my mood, any history with the person, etc etc.

seriously though, not knowing things that even my little sister/my non-formally educated grandma know, is just the peak of a idiocy.
there are 2 possibilities if your common sense is different from most people
1. you're a genius
2. you're a folly (sounds a little bit cuter than "you're an idiot" XD)

so yeah, thats my view on people with common sense.
actually i wanted to post about the interfaculty sports day, but i havent got the pics from Mel, so I'm posting this thought of mine. apparently someone without a common sense had ticked me off XD.
